Custom Domains

Transform your Bantam projects from project.bantam.site to files.yourdomain.com. Custom domains provide professional branding and build trust with your audience.

  • Domain ownership - You must own or control the domain
  • DNS access - Ability to modify DNS records
  1. Go to your Domains page
  2. Click “Add Domain”
  3. Enter your domain (e.g., files.example.com)
  4. Click “Add Domain”
  1. Click ‘Check Status’ from the domains page
  1. Return to Bantam after adding DNS records
  2. Click “Verify Domain” or “Check Status”
  3. Verification usually completes within minutes

Status indicators:

  • 🟡 Pending - DNS propagation in progress
  • 🟢 Verified - Domain ready to use
  • 🔴 Failed - Check DNS settings

Once your domain is verified, map projects to it:

Map a project to your main domain:

  • yourdomain.com → Your project

Create subdomains for different projects:

  • app.yourdomain.com → App project
  • docs.yourdomain.com → Documentation project
  • demo.yourdomain.com → Demo project
  1. Click on your verified domain
  2. Add new mappings with optional subdomains
  3. Select which project to map
  4. Delete mappings when no longer needed

  • Free SSL certificates
  • Automatic renewal
  • HTTPS enforcement
  • No configuration required
  • Wait for DNS propagation (up to 48 hours)
  • Check record type - Use CNAME for subdomains
  • Disable proxy - Turn off CDN proxy at your DNS provider
  • Ensure domain is verified (green status)
  • Check that a project is mapped to the domain
  • Verify DNS records are still correct
  • Try a different browser or clear cache
